Good morning! We’re excited to show you something we’ve been working on that’s going to make feedback on our platform even more powerful. We’re also continuing to fix bugs and expand our accessibility standards. Let’s dive in.

Feedback Form Customization

Feedback is important to our schools to make sure that students are progressing in their learning and that tutors are as effective as possible. Starting today, your HERO can now customize synchronous tutoring feedback questions. This allows you to modify or add any questions to the survey that students get after completing a session.

Right now, this is only accessible to internal Upswing staff. We have plans to roll this out to admins in the future.

Whether you’re customizing feedback for synchronous or asynchronous tutoring, any customizations or additional questions you use will be added to the standard feedback that students fill out right after a session or once an assignment has been returned. Any feedback left using this new form will show up when you export data from the Feedback tab in the Admin Dashboard.

If you’d like to add custom feedback for your students, please contact your HERO to get that setup!

Accessibility Enhancements: Improved Labeling

This summer, we’ve been taking another look at our platform’s accessibility to ensure that students, admins, and tutors of all abilities can efficiently navigate the platform. Today, we’re improving the labels on elements all across the platform to ensure that people using screen readers have a clearer experience.

Bug Fixes

We fixed some bugs! Here are a few:

  • Fixed an issue where some tutors could not be set up with group support.
  • Declined immediate sessions no longer show as unanswered.
  • In some cases, the VLC was pushed over to the side. That shouldn’t happen anymore.

Something You May Have Missed: Tutor Schedule Management

Keeping an eye on multiple tutors at the same time can be time consuming and frustrating. That’s why we created the Tutor Schedule Management tab in the Admin Dashboard!

Get a bird’s eye view of your tutors’ schedules

Using the Tutor Schedule Management tab, you’ll be able to see when your tutors are scheduled to receive tutoring session requests, when they have scheduled sessions, and if they’re immediately available right now. We’ve also made it powerful by allowing you to filter by name, subject, location, and more! Want to see if you have full coverage in Algebra on Thursday in the Learning Center? You can do that.

You can also schedule a session right from the timeline!
